The Service was a very moving occasion attended by over 150 nursery and primary schoolchildren and their teachers at the Remembrance Garden on Main Street along with members of the public. The schoolchildren sang beautifully and all declared it was very moving to hear their voices. The Parish Council is very thankful to the schools for organising this. The Bugle player was also excellent and maintained the tradition of doing The Last Post in commemoration of those who died in war. The Chair of the Parish Council and the Chair of Billinge Residents Association led the service and each spoke of importance of not forgetting the service and sacrifice of people who have served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Finally, we would like to thank the Police, Cllr Colin Betts, volunteer Stewards and the Road Safety Team who meant the event was as safe as possible for all those attending.
